Discretization

Here we discretize the rod - The one dimensional continuum rod is considered to be made up of mass points separated by distance \(dx\)

• We focus our analysis on one mass point.
• Temperature of a mass point is influenced by the temperature of its neighbouring mass points.
• Greater the conductivity of the material, more quickly all the 3 points attain same temperature - in other words thermal equilibrium.
