Discretization

Here we discretize atmosphere!

• We now consider the continuous column of air to be made of smaller discrete columns, each of height, \( \Delta z \).
• We assume each column to have constant P, V, T values and to be in equilibrium with neighbouring columns.
• Columns can exchange heat and mass, but the net transfer is zero.
